There is the old saying that captures human attention spans well. It says: “Out of sight our of mind.” Basically, it gets across the idea that if we get something away from our sense we will forget about it or stop wanting it. One sense this can be done with is hearing.
Just think, if we don’t hear something, we don’t have a tendency to give it much room in our minds. We shut things out. The worst thing we do is shout out the voices of those without a voice. We can’t even let the voiceless occupy our minds or our actions . . .
