Yesterday, I grabbed the family basket of socks and sat down to start matching up the pairs. My five year old brother, who always offers to help me, came on over to me and start digging through the basket.
It wasn’t long before he found a pair or two. When he got discouraged after not finding some for awhile he started throwing out socks he thought he could find a match. He threw out a pair of socks and said, “pair!” He threw out another and said, “pair!” He threw out an individual sock and said, “almost a pair!”
I smiled at his optimism. His example is a good one to follow. A half full glass is only 50% full and half a pair is only 50% but we can still count it as 51% when we believe in a total of 101%!
