[Very Important Note: When God is used, it refers to God the Father]
Questions arose about God, thousands of years ago, where is He? Why can’t we make images of Him? The questions went on and on.
Before Jesus Christ was even born, questions were raised about Him. When is He coming? Will He abolish Roman rule? What will He be like? The questions for both have continued on, why did Jesus come? Why did God give Moses the Law? Why didn’t Jesus destroy the Romans? Why did Jesus come? Why did God make us?
Jesus and God may seem a touchy matter for some people, but the question is, who are Jesus Christ and God? Through the pages of inspired Scriptures, God has painted a non-bodily image of Himself, a loving, perfect, holy God who cannot sin and will never perish.
Through the same Scriptures, Jesus Christ has fulfilled the mystery of some verses and written others. Jesus is the most influential teacher, physician, and Savior the world has ever experienced, and here, we find the similarities and differences between the Almighty God, and the Savior, Jesus Christ!
To begin, Jesus Christ and God are One! They have a few differences but they have the same will, plan, and love for us all.
God, first of all, wrote the hundred or so prophecies about Jesus, whereas, Jesus fulfilled the prophecies.
Jesus Christ fulfilled the prophecies in order to be the Savior, something God the Father is not. God is God of all Creation, Jesus is the Savior of Creation.
Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, but it was God who had everything arranged and planned perfectly for His Son.
When the earth was not yet formed, both Jesus and God were there. They both planned out the making of the earth and they both made the universe. Both Jesus and God were Creators of the world.
When God first told Moses that “I AM WHO I AM.” He was making the claim that He has existed for all of eternity. God had no beginning; He existed before, and outside of time. He does not age, and He does not die.
When Jesus Christ came to the earth He was asked, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” Along, with God, Jesus Christ will always exist; He has never had a beginning and will never have an end!
When God made man, He made him in His own image. Too clarify, God does not have a bodily form, He is glory, light, love, and justice combined in a chorus of greatness!
On the other hand, Jesus came down to earth, incarnated, as a Man! Jesus was born of a Virgin, lived on earth, faced trials, and died by physical persecution!
So, the question remains, who is more important, and why do Jesus and God matter?
The truth is, both God the Father and Jesus are One, even Jesus said, “I and My Father are One.”
So, even though Jesus and God have differences, they are still One-minded, and One in will, and One in love, and neither is more important than the other!
